PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This case-based educational activity is designed to help Alzheimer’s disease and dementia providers diagnose AD earlier in the disease course through comprehensive history and physical, validated cognitive assessments, neuroimaging, and referral, when appropriate. Through interactive case-based learning, our faculty will assist learners in developing strategies to improve multidisciplinary care and clinician/patient communication to facilitate the best possible treatment outcomes.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This program will meet the educational needs of health care providers involved in the diagnosis and continued care of patients with early symptomatic AD on a global level, including specialists (i.e., dementia specialists, neurologists, geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrists), nurse practitioners (NPs; working in AD specialty settings), and physicians’ assistants (PAs; working in AD specialty settings).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

• Evaluate opportunities for the use of validated cognitive assessments to screen for early symptomatic AD within a multidisciplinary care paradigm
• Appraise updated diagnostic guidelines in AD leveraging blood-based, CSF-based, and imaging biomarkers
