PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This educational activity is designed to provide participants with important clinical information on screening, diagnosing, and staging mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. Through the use of high-quality images and graphics, along with detailed slide-based presentation, our faculty will address clinical practice recommendations informing the use of disease-modifying therapy for Alzheimer's disease, and provide tools on how to best assess and manage potential adverse events associated with these agents. This educational program will help clinicians to apply best practices for shared decision making with patients, including discussion of treatment benefits, risks, and therapy expectations.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of health care providers involved in the diagnosis and continued care of patients with Alzheimer's disease, including primary care physicians, neurologists, geriatricians, psychiatrists, nurses, NPs, PAs, and other multidisciplinary team members.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Integrate evidence-based pathways for screening, diagnosing, and staging mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD)
• Appraise clinical practice recommendations informing the use of disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) for AD and identifying those who qualify for treatment based on available clinical data
• Assess and manage potential adverse events associated with DMTs for AD using a multidisciplinary approach

ASWB Credit Designation Statement for Jointly Accredited Organizations (Social Worker Credit)

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Med Learning Group is approved to offer social work continuing education by the association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 asynchronous continuing education credit.

AAPA Credit Designation Statement – Enduring Materials

Med Learning Group has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until May 20, 2026. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) Credit Designation Statement
